Cheap Video Projector: The light Source
Headlight Light Source Test
1. | First attempt: big ol' Sealed headlight I think i either found this on a curb or used this in a previous project. Either way, sealed bulbs go for 6 dollars at a decent auto store. Normally they are used for tractors or such |
|
2 | As its obvious, this is rather large and the glass outside is ribbed, so as you can guess, that transfers over to the image: nope, thats not good so my next step was to nix the glass cover |
|
3 | ok, so upon nixing the glass cover, which is sealed on, i damaged the reflector. thankfully JB weld kicks ass and works on glass (i sanded the surface before application) eitherway, the reflector was very impressive (shiny) | |
Lo and behold: it worked, well kinda... Theres this clear ring where the reflector does not cover, even though i added in some mirrors, the reflector's focal length was too long to fit in the box. This causes that wonderful missing doughnut area in the middle of the sceen. So this idea was nixed. |
