Creating a near-space imaging vehicle in under 30 hours (aka a beer cooler, that ran linux)

30 hours? why so haphazard?
Trying to get 8 busy, intelligent people in the same state, let along the same room is difficult. 1 weekend is all anyone could spare of their summer break, so we decided it was do-able in a weekend.
